Rent Room The apt. is located on the second floor of a side-street with NO TRAFIC (cars just come in to park), facing a lovely old-style Milanese house covered in ivy.
Your room is a bright, cozy double-bedroom overlooking a big Magnolia tree and a small garden below. There are two single beds in your room, that you can keep separate or attach if you want.
There is also a kitchen, a bathroom and a balcony, that you will have full access to.
You’ll have fresh linen, a warm shower and soft towel, a kitchen and a fridge if you want to cook for yourself, hairdryer and iron...
but most of all a nice place to rest and leave your things while you go explore the city or attend meetings.
Basically, apart from my bedroom, you'll have access to the whole house.
I'm busy working as a manager so I leave early and try not to come back too late..
but I like meeting new people and telling them a little about my adoptive hometown: I've been in Milan for more than 15 years now.
If you need info or just want to chat a bit over dinner, I'll be very happy to hang out or just let you do your thing, as you prefer.
I really love my neighborhood because it's close to most of the interesting parts of Milan, has everything you need, you can get everywhere very quickly, but it's pretty quiet and there is a friendly feeling to it.
Just outside the house in Piazza Napoli there’s a park, there are two other parks close by, all within walking distance.
There are 2 supermarkets 5 minutes away if you want to shop and cook.
If not, there are plenty of good restaurants and you can get your fair share of Italian or Foreign Cuisine just round the corner.
Lots of cafès if you want your espresso or cappuccino in the morning.
There are 3 dry-cleaners in the neighborhood, but no self-service Laundromats, if you don’t need dry press or perfect ironing, just use the washing machine at home.
You can buy public transportation tickets at the local cafè/tobacco shop in front of the #14 tram stop.
The apt. is located conveniently to reach almost any subway line or the center itself (Duomo) with just one means of ground transportation: Tram 14, Buses such as the 50 or 51, 90 and 91.
From the Duomo, just get on the 14 Tram towards "Lorenteggio" and it'll stop 100 yards from the apartment.
You'll be living about 5 tram stops from Green Subway line (S.Agostino), a few bus stops away from Green line Romolo or Sant’Ambrogio, and Red line De Angeli or Pagano.
Public transportation in Milan is pretty efficient and affordable.
There’s a nice walk along the "Naviglio Grande" canal, from there you can get to the Navigli nightlife area in about 15 minutes on foot.
Cabs in Milan tend to be relatively expensive, especially at night, but the city isn’t that big so you won't be riding great distances.
You CANNOT hail a cab on the street, you have to call them or get one from the special taxi parking lots that you will find around the city.
If you need me to book you a cab for catching an early flight or train, just let me know.
You're very welcome to make yourself coffee or tea in the morning, I have both in the house.
Tommy’s Cozy is for people who want a convenient place, with all the basic commodities that one expects from a room for rent, in a nice neighborhood:
If you’re an easy-going person that cares about the real things, you’ve just found yourself a great deal!
Check-in is usually between 4pm till 10pm, if those hours won't fit you, let me know and we'll arrange something.
I'm pretty laid-back and won't be around much so you'll have the house to yourself. Please try to keep the common spaces relatively tidy, as you would in any other house.
I'd prefer if you smoke on the balcony and not in the house: I'm used to people smoking around me but cigars and cigarettes tend to leave a strong scent and that might bother other guests in the future.
I think it's easier to travel without pets but if you have your beloved cat or dog with you, contact me and we'll work something out.
